Online Maps
These maps are created in ESRI's ArcGIS 9.2 platform. Data is edited with ArcInfo and hosted in ArcSDE. The City is currently developing web mapping applications to allow for maps that are easily accessible to the public. Each map takes about 45 seconds to 1½ minutes to load depending on your connection speed. Once the map is loaded you will be able to zoom in or out and pan to view specific areas of the map. Utilize the identify tool to browse attribute information in the results window for specific items in the map. Notice the help menu in the top right hand corner of the site. This help utility explains the tools that are available.
Note: as you zoom in, aerial photos will appear in the background. The map is multi-layered and will be more detailed as you zoom in.
Data maintained by the City is constantly updated and changed with the best available data. The parcel data is provided to the City of Aiken by the Aiken County Planning and Development Department - GIS Division, in cooperation with the County Assessor's Office as it becomes available.
Grid is based on South Carolina State Plane Coordinate System 1983 North American Datum - International Feet
